Position Summary:
The Director of Career Pathway Development will be an integral member of the Father Judge High School Administration. This position will support the program specialists in Welding, Automotive, and HVAC with a focus on the efficient operation of the Career & Technical Education (CTE) program and oversee safety and compliance across each dynamic program. The Career Pathways Academy CTE programs will prepare students to earn industry certifications for post-secondary options in highly skilled trades, ensuring immediate job placement in high priority occupations. This position will develop, implement, and enforce compliance strategies, while collaborating with the Administration and various academic departments to foster a culture of educating every young man in the image of our Patron, St. Francis DeSales to “Be who he is and be that well.” This position will also monitor changes in safety regulations, and ensure the program curriculum remains current, as well as work with industry partners to certify that the CTE program graduates possess a cutting-edge education. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Observe, evaluate, give feedback, and coach program specialists on effective instructional practices.
- Work collaboratively with program specialists to oversee Co-Op Program placement, monitoring, selection, completion, and certification.
- Work collaboratively with program specialists to prepare and complete student placement in CTE programs – application, information sessions, interviews, selection, and placement.
- Work collaboratively with the administration and program specialists to develop and enforce contracts for students in CTE programs.
- Work collaboratively with the Administration and Guidance Department to plan and execute career and college fairs on campus for upperclassmen.
- Work collaboratively with students, administration, and industry partners to determine the process for summer work co-op placement, internships, site visits, etc.
- Assist students with career placement upon graduation, including resume building, interview preparation, and employer selection based upon opportunities presented.
- Work with the Administration and Guidance Department to facilitate Career Signing Day, a key part of the Success on Solly celebration of student achievement.
- Network and develop partnerships with skilled trades, industry, manufacturing, and the military to assist in developing support, career pipelines, and potential sites for student placement for jobs, internships, Co-Ops, etc.
- Approve and coordinate all industry and CTE associated field trips in consultation with the Administration.
- Collaborate with the Principal in integrating the Catholic faith and culture into the school’s entire program.
- Maintain all records for student attendance, tardiness, and discipline, following procedures as determined by the student information system.
- Design, execute, and enforce contracts for students who are violating the programs established expectations, safety guidelines, attendance, or behavioral policies.
- Establish and keep fluid dialogue with/among parents, students, and faculty relative to student problems in a proactive manner to alleviate/cope/assist with disciplinary, academic, social/emotional issues impacting student progress.
- In collaboration with the Assistant Principal of Academic Affairs (APAA) and the Brisson Center for Academic Excellence Director ensure all Crusader Program affiliated students are supported as needed to be prepared for post-secondary employment.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce the budget for each of the program specialists’ programs as well as supervise budgets for all activities to provide to moderators.
- Responsible for the initial approval of all purchases/PO’s that are requested by the program specialists prior to submittal to the Principal and President for authorization.
- Design opportunities for students to participate in community service opportunities in line with the school’s mission and strategic vision.
- Continuously develop and determine in consultation with the principal; policies and guidelines for each CTE Program ensuring all aspects of the program are reviewed, understood, and have used forward thinking to maximize the impact and value of a graduate once certified.
- Be an active and participating member of the school’s Academic Board
- Attend meetings and provide support for planning related to high-profile donors with the Development Staff and Office of the President.
- Participate in the admissions process by supporting various admissions events and the development of collateral materials for distribution about CTE.
- Develop and maintain, in collaboration with the APAA and Principal, the CTE curriculum and Co-Op programs.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or President.
Qualifications
Required
- 2-4 years of teaching experience in a CTE classroom
- Google Suite Proficient
- Microsoft Office Proficient
- Experience Managing Purchase Orders and Budgeting
Preferred
- 2-4 years of experience managing CTE programs
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, or a CTE-related field
- Certificate in Career and Technical Administrative Director
- Master's Degree in Education Supervision
