Position Summary:
The job of General Maintenance Worker provides maintenance services as needed and/or assigned. He/She assists in a wide variety of maintenance activities; addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns; assisting skilled trades; and ensures that tools and materials are maintained in good working order. The Maintenance Worker reports to Maintenance Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential Duties)
- Schedule, coordinate, direct and perform routine and comprehensive custodial maintenance of assigned facilities.
- Performs various maintenance and custodial duties such as installation and repair to fixtures in restrooms and classrooms.
- Assists with and performs refinishing of floors.
- Lifting and moving of light furniture will be required
- Identifies stains and uses proper chemicals for removal.
- Performs minor ground keeping duties.
- Responds to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and neatness in the schools.
- Participates in meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications: (Education/Training and Experience Required)
Requirements:
- High School Diploma including
- 3-5 years of progressively more responsible experience in general maintenance.
- Valid Driving License and clean driving record
