POSITION SUMMARY

Roman Catholic High School is currently seeking a part-time Maintenance Assistant who will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment within the facilities. Reporting to the Maintenance Director, this role involves performing routine cleaning, minor repairs, and general upkeep of the buildings and grounds. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and the flexibility to handle various tasks as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties:

  • Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing restrooms, classrooms, offices, and common areas, as needed.
  • Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper waste disposal, as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining the exterior of the facility by sweeping sidewalks, clearing snow, and ensuring safe entryways.
  • Conduct minor maintenance and repair tasks such as replacing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, and reporting more extensive repairs to the Maintenance Director.
  • Restock cleaning supplies, paper products, and soap in restrooms and other areas, as needed.
  • Set up and break down tables, chairs, and equipment for events and meetings.
  • Monitor and report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or other issues requiring attention.
  • Assist with general maintenance projects as needed, such as painting, minor plumbing, or carpentry tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Previous experience in custodial, janitorial, or maintenance work preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning products and equipment.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean, orderly environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.
  • Knowledge of, and commitment to, the mission of Roman Catholic High School.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training and experience/Skills) Required:

  • Previous experience in custodial, janitorial, or maintenance work preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning products and equipment.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean, orderly environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.
  • Knowledge of, and commitment to, the mission of Roman Catholic High School.

SALARY

This is a 12-month, part-time position at 19 hours per week. Hourly rate is $15/hour.
